Under the new organizational structure, AUO planed to operate based on two core businesses of Display and Solar. Each business would have its own production, R&D, as well as sales and marketing functions, with dedicated team force, to meet the different industry demands for the led high bay light proactive development of the two core businesses in parallel. The Display business was handled by Mr. Paul Peng, Executive VP who is familiar with the panel industry. Due to the strategic role of the Solar business to AUO's future positioning in the green energy industry and its long-term importance, the Solar business was led by Dr. L.J. Chen, the President.
AUO has long implemented corporate governance. Four new Vice Presidents with excellent performance emerged and they were Display business, Dr. Frank Ko, who would become in charge of the TV Display Business Group; Mr. K.P. Chu would become in charge of the Global Supply Chain Management; for the Solar business, Mr. James Chen, who would become in charge of Solar Business Group; and Mr. Shih-Kun Chen, would become in charge of Global Solar Manufacturing. To further implement the deputy system, Mr. Max Cheng would serve as acting President and assist in the relevant matters relating to the development of the Solar business.
The Company hoped that, with the joining of the next generation of professional managers ,this would further fortify AUO's operation efficiency and create the maximum benefits for the shareholders, turning over a new leaf for the Company's two core businesses.
FOREPI President Dr. Fen-Ren Chien comments: “This is our company’s first AIX G5 HT system, allowing us to smoothly transfer our process recipes to a new reactor. Once this is proven we can look forward to the purchase of more systems for production. The reason why the AIXTRON system was chosen comes down to the all round excellent performance of our existing systems like the G4 and CRIUS. Hence we have a strong interest in acquiring LED high bay lighting recently launched products – such as the G5 and the CRIUS II. Following successful recipe transfer, FOREPI will exercise all the advantages that we can get from the G5 system, having already demonstrated high quality GaN deposition at very high growth rates and high pressure above 600 mbar resulting in superior GaN/InGaN uniformities."
