the existing soldering points make it possible to attach the modules to a suitable heat sink

As the incandescent will gradually fade out from lighting stage, Home Depot is ready to help people to adapt this change. All Home Depot stores are hosting how-to workshops the next two Saturdays at 10 a.m. to teach people about fluorescent and LED lighting. Managers say their employees have been trained to answer whatever questions come up.The deadline for the switch to more energy efficient bulbs is in September, but leaders at Home Depot say the phasing out will happen earlier.  They aren't ordering anymore and will soon be out of stock.

According to the company, it has retained the 15mm x 12mm x 1.6mm dimensions, along with an aluminium ceramic plate as carrier material. The flat surface of the ceramic plate and the existing soldering points make it possible to attach the modules to a suitable heat sink, without too much effort or additional connecting material, it is claimed, achieving efficient heat dissipation.

According to Greentech LED Lighting Sdn Bhd executive chairman Datuk Syed Elias Syed Ahmad , the company would be the first to introduce the German-based technology to the country. “The lights, also known as Green Lighting, are widely used in the United States, Europe and China, and we are excited about introducing it to Malaysians,” he said.

Furthermore, he added that “Our lights are different from other LED products as the bulbs use multiple chips on board design which saves 80% of energy as compared to regular LED lights.” The lights only used up to 50W when installed at homes or offices as compared with similar fluorescent bulbs which used up to 90W.
