the manufacturer of light measurement systems based in Munich

Last year, Instrument Systems GmbH further reinforced its leading position in LED Test & Measurement by gaining a major order worth several million euros. The order for a large number of array spectrometers from the CAS 140CT series placed by Korean company LG Innotek has strengthened the market leadership of the manufacturer of light measurement systems based in Munich.

LG Innotek uses the array spectrometers supplied in 2010 for testing wafers used in the production of LEDs. These are installed in led high bay light units for LCD TV sets. A key factor for placing the order with Instrument Systems was the combination of high levels of measurement accuracy and short measuring times. These two features are complemented by the superior reliability guaranteed by the array spectrometers manufactured by the Munich-based company. They enable all relevant photometric and colorimetric parameters of LEDs, such as luminous flux and color coordinates, to be determined within milliseconds.

"We are proud to have gained a prestigious company like LG Innotek as a customer and we are delighted to be in a position to supply a key component necessary for the production of advanced LCD TVs,”commented Vice President of Sales Dr. Thomas Attenberger on this major order.

According to Panasonic, the overall domestic market for LED lights will jump from 11 million units to 18 million next fiscal year and it targets to grab half of the domestic market. The company plans to begin offering on March 18 LED Linear high bay light capable of shedding light over a wide, 300-degree swath, putting them on par with incandescent lamps. It also widened the angle of illumination from 120 degrees for existing products which are expected to sell for about 3,500 yen each.
